We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abused animals
SAVE A PET
To ensure the well-being of all animals, while ending overpopulation, abuse, and unwarranted euthanasia.
TigersDen was founded in 2012 due to the never-ending suffering that the homeless and abused animals go through daily. We are a non-profit, 501c3, no-kill, 100% volunteer run organization dedicated to rescuing the abused, neglected, and homeless animals in Rhode Island.
It is our mission to:
Reduce the number of stray unwanted animals in our communities through TNR programs.
Providing food, shelter, and medical treatment to animals in need while adhering to our no-kill tradition.
Offer resources and assistance to pets and owners in need to support lifelong care.
Rescue lost or abandoned animals in our state, with reunification as top priority.
Educate and raise awareness about the crisis of animal abuse, overpopulation, and the importance of spaying/neutering both our own pets and feral cat colonies.
What we do:
TigersDen assists animals in need throughout the state of RI. We maintain, feed, and vet the largest feral cat colony (close to 100 cats) in Rhode Island. Our organization also reunites lost pets with their families, raises funds to assist pet owners in financially difficult situations to meet their pet’s needs, and assists with surrenders. In addition, TigersDen assists with the rehoming and/or adopting of cats, as well as providing education and awareness within our communities regarding animal abuse, overpopulation, and TNR. Our organization makes every effort to domesticate the feral cats and adopt them into forever homes through the help of our foster volunteers.
Why we do it:
According to the National Kitten Coalition’s statistics, 6-8 million cats and dogs enter shelters each year with approximately 3 million of them being euthanized. Of the 3 million cats and dogs euthanized a year in shelters, approximately 80% are healthy or have treatable conditions that could have been adopted into loving homes. Approximately 70% of cats in shelters are euthanized and less than 5% who arrived as strays, are returned to their owners. TigersDen works endlessly to decrease these heartbreaking statistics.
How we do it:
TigersDen is a 100% volunteer run non-profit dedicated to saving the lives of animals in Rhode Island. We do not receive government funding so rely solely on the support and donations from private individuals and businesses who want to support us with our mission to save abused, neglected, and homeless animals in our state. We are not a shelter, but are a foster based rescue that covers all expenses related to fostering our rescued animals. Along with our fostering expenses, we also financially assist with animals needing emergency medical care and feed, maintain, and vet the largest feral cat colony in RI. We NEED your support to continue to save animals in need!!!
